Van....I made the same observations as you did. I would also like to see the nuthatches and even woodpeckers that our host mentioned earlier.

Sadly, I didn't see a single Bluetit today. I saw Bullfinches early on, but not later in the morning. The Great Tits came often, and the 'Siskins', and I saw 'blackcheeks a few times - even more than one at a time!

Then I got this not very good screenshot of a bird I thought I'd glimpsed a few times over the past few days. They move so fast, and the light isn't too good, but I have noticed a reddish head and breast on a little striped bird (too bad the red car is in the background):

Could this new bird be a Redpoll? The Mealy Redpoll (below) is found in this area, I believe.

Van, I did see something like your bird with the red on it 2 days ago, but it flew before I got a shot. It reminds me of our purple finches that we get here that flock with the gold finches.

I got the usual Great Tits and "siskins" and Joi, hold on to your socks, a snowplow, actually plowing. The temp was almost 5 C when I tuned in. Lots of puddles and snow melt.

New system would not let me edit above post. But found this bird that looks somewhat like what you saw Van...on the net......The rosefinch which is in the Eurasia area: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosefinch

Lovely shots, RB and Van

Good to see the snowplough again RB :D and it was actually moving :yahoo: Why do I not catch any excitement lol

I noticed the Redpolls too but wasn't sure if I was seeing correctly  I was waiting to see if others had also seen them; you did well to get a screenshot, Van :good: I think they are Mealy Redpolls too .

Interesting about the Purple Finches flocking with the Goldfinches, RB; Siskins tend to arrive with Goldfinches at feeders here.

Yes, hope we see a woodpecker and a nuthatch :-)

I am now pretty sure that we are seeing Redpolls - they are a little bird that survives well in winter conditions! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_redpoll I have never seen them here on Vancouver Island, but when I looked them up I see that their winter range is most of Canada. The pics on this site https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Redpoll/id/ look remarkably like the little bird we have seen recently, and even the female might not be what we had thought was a Siskin, but a female Redpoll?

It was just below freezing when I began watching, and the first birds I saw were a Redpoll and Great Tit.

Actually, I am not sure whether that bird on the left feeder is a Great Tit - hard to tell in that light.

Best shots I have so far of the Redpoll!

The Bullfinches visited occasionally.

Notice the new information posted by the cam host:

Attention! The feeder will go offline for its usual vacation somewhat in first half of April, maybe a little later if there will be still cool weather. Don't panic! We usually restart the translation in the end of October or in first week of November. Want more birds for the summer? Visit the greatest list of birds watching cams we know — viewbirds.com!

Viewbirds.com http://www.viewbirds.com/

These are other sites that I view multiple bird cams:

https://eagleholic.wordpress.com/eagle-cam-list/

Meanwhile, a nice bullfinch visited and the mystery bird / siskin / redpoll / sparrow / whatever and great tit.

I was happy to see Bluetits again today - maybe because there were fewer visits from the recently arrived Siskins/Redpolls. Regular visits continued by the Great Tits, and occasionally the Bullfinches and 'black cheeks' dropped by.

It was a sunny day and temp hovered around freezing.

Lots of activity today, at least human activity. Just the regular tits when I signed on. Kids playing all over the place, adults talking, and a woman and a baby carriage that I see most every day and the usual smokers outside the door.
Streaming later now....still on at 18:00, but getting dark. Maybe they are also streaming earlier too?
