Don't these people know it's the middle of the winter? (must be tourists - Queenslanders would say it's too cool for the beach and swimming).

These beaches with rocky outcrops reminded me so much of distantly-remembered holidays in Cornwall (England)

What is the story behind this one, Al? Looks like a ship's figurehead?

Oooh and I love the bougainvillea - we saw so much of it in Queensland on our visits. We even have a couple of those pink ones here, but they have to stay in the greenhouse all winter, and have become too big and sprawly to bring out in the summer now.

Thanks for these photos, Al - next best thing to being there!

The reposing statue was at the resort we were staying at, Van.
It had an Indonesian theme.
It was on a steep hill, hence we had a good view.
It was easy to walk down to a bar and restaurant, but not so much fun coming back.
