1 cup self-raising flour
¾ cup caster sugar
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
½ cup (125ml) milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
30g butter melted
For the sauce
¾cup firmly packed brown sugar
¼ cup (30g) cocoa powder
1¾cups (430ml) hot water
Prep: 15 minutes | Cook: 50 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease an ovenproof dish, I use a glass casserole dish around 2 litres.
Sift flour, sugar and cocoa into a large mixing bowl.
Add combined milk butter and vanilla essence and stir until smooth. Pour mixture into baking dish.
Sift combined brown sugar and extra cocoa evenly over the top of the pudding mix.
Gently pour the water over the pudding, using a spoon to break the flow.
Transfer to oven and bake for approx 50mins.
Serve hot from the oven and dust with icing sugar if desired, enjoy!
