Here's a link to a microsoft security scanner that will run alongside your existing anti virus app.

if your security app is about to expire you shoud consider using the free Microsoft security Essentials which comes very highly rated.

All my cam computers run Microsoft Security Essentials. And I installed it on my In-Law's computer because it is so light weight and does everything in the background. The company I work for has it installed on over 1000 computers. It's free and it is good.
